Introducing Atlas — Split Keyboard with Dual TrackPoints & Optional Trackball

Atlas is our open-source split keyboard with a TrackPoint under each hand and an optional central trackball. The repo is live on GitHub.

Why we built it

A Bluetooth HTPC keyboard with a built-in trackpad, the kind you use on a couch, is a bad piece of hardware. The trackpad is cramped, the pointing is awkward, and the layout never feels right. We wanted typing and precise pointing on the same device, without ever leaving the home row.

Atlas is the answer: a split layout you can position to your posture, a TrackPoint under each hand, and an optional trackball mounted between the halves for people who prefer ball-based pointing.

What ships in the repo

  • PCB design files for the keyboard and the pointing modules
  • 3D-printable parts: cases, mounts, trackball housing
  • Firmware with TrackPoint and trackball support
  • Build instructions and a parts list

The repo is still experimental and the design is moving fast. PRs and issues welcome.
